Books I Want to Read In 2021
One of my new years resolutions this year is to read more and specifically at least 8 books which isn’t that much but compared to what I usually read this is a big increase. Genres I tend to like to read are primarily YA romance, poetry and self help books!
Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell
Eleanor & Park is young adult fiction book follows the life of two teens in high school who both don’t really fit in and eventually grow some kind of feelings towards each other.
Love & Gelato by Jenna Evans Welch
This fiction story about a teen girl spending the summer in Italy explores romance, adventure and mystery which sounds like my biggest fantasy so I am looking forward to living vicariously through Love & Gelato.
I Would Leave Me If I could by Halsey
This collection of poetry is written by popular singer, songwriter and feminist Halsey and is described to be a raw representation of her experiences with relationships, sexuality and mental illness. I really love Halsey’s music and can appreciate a artist so much more when you get a peek into their real life and feelings.
Beach Read by Emily Henry
I’ve been seeing this book everywhere this summer and the plot is about two writers with writers block staying in beach houses next to each other and they start to get to know each other with the end goal being for each of them to finish ne books. As well as every influencer I follow only has good things to say about Beach Read!
Validate Me: A Life of Code-dependency by Charly Cox
I’ve found this book because of reading her first book She Must Be Mad which is a feminist collection of poetry along with essays. Which I gave a solid 3.5 stars on out of 5 on my Goodreads and I’m excited to see what this book holds!
One Last Stop by Casey McQuiston
I’ve also been wanting to read this LGBT romance novel that takes place in New York City as I’ve seen it all over my tiktok! This romance Novel is about two average women who cross paths on a subway, and one who believes in being alone decides tp try to save the other. Who doesn’t need a New York romance in their lives!
Find Me by Andre Aciman
This book is from the author of call me by your name and is actually the sequel to that book! I do really like the movie Call Me By Your Name I think that’s where the interest in Timothee Chalamet began but I would like to highlight I saw Call Me By Your name in theatres BEFORE THE HYPE!
Monday’s Not Coming by Tiffany D. Jackson
This YA mystery novel is about a girl disappearing and her bestfriend is trying to figure out what happened with no help of the family. Usually mystery novels are not what I reach for but I have definitely been intrigued by Mondays not coming because of the bright and modern cover art!
Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid
This is another book I’ve seen all over my tiktok and once I read the plot it seems like something I’d really like! This fiction book is about a popular rock & roll group in the 1970s with a gorgeous lead singer and their infamous breakup.
Feminists Don’t Wear Pink And Other Lies by Scarlett Curtis
This book is a collection of essays from feminist’s all over the world who share what feminism is to them. This book is a collaboration with Girl Up to share experiences hopefully inspiring others, I’m excited to eventually read this because it is nothing like any other books!
